					Sunday School

Lewisburg United Methodist Church offers Sunday School
					classes for all ages!
Classes are held from 10:00am -10:45am. A nursery is
					always provided.

					 The
Wesley Sunday School Class is primarily
middle aged adults in their 50’s and 60’s and energetic
70's. They are a very active class that rotates teachers and
subject matter throughout the year. They always have
					breakfast and a great discussion.
					The Singles Sunday
School Class, known as PALS (People Alone Living
					Spiritually) enjoys
study, fellowship and breakfast together as well as many
social activities throughout the year. Leader for this
class is Bev Engle. Class is mostly fifty/sixty somethings
and meets in the church parlor at 10:00am.
					The Christian Home Studies
					Sunday School Class is
composed of mature adults. This class focuses strongly upon
the care of others. They visit homebound persons and those
in nursing homes. Many folks receive cards from this class
and they give special care to those who need some
extra attention around the holidays. This class rotates
teachers and is a large, active class.
					The Willing Workers Sunday
					School Class is
attended by a group of mature women who rotate leadership
					throughout the year.
					*Greeters and Ushers are happy
to help you find a Sunday School Class.

					United Methodist Women

The United Methodist Women is a community of women whose
purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as a whole
persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative,
supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission
through participation in the Global Ministries of the
Church.  Membership shall be open to any woman who indicates
her desire to become and participate in the Global Mission
of the Church through the United Methodist Women.

The official emblem for the United Methodist Women combines
the cross and a flame. The cross and flame are ancient
symbols of Christ and Pentecost. The shape of the emblem is
fluid and free flowing, suggesting change and mobility. “…I
now remind you to stir into flame the gift of God which is
					within you.” (II Timothy 1:6)

Our heritage is one of sacrifice, witness and service. The
emblem serves as a continuing reminder of both opportunity
					and obligation.

					United Methodist Men

The LUMC Methodist Men meet monthly on the second
Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m.  They enjoy
					good food, fellowship and song.

The United Methodist Men worked with Wellspring to build a
wheelchair accessible ramp for a disabled person in White
Sulphur Springs and for a community church there. Later they
helped Wellspring with building renovation/repair at
Quinwood, which is used as an overnight shelter for men.

As a group, they removed vines that had almost completely
covered the west side of the older part of LUMC. They have
aided the LUMC women in procuring and installing stainless
steel covers for two kitchen work tables. They also
sponsored two pancake meals for the church and the church
bazaar, where they also sold crafts.

Their impact upon other males in and out of church is one of
their major missions, and they will continue to offer this
Christian fellowship to all who seek to know Christ in their
					lives.
